Classic Resurrection

A subtle, dry gin of eight botanicals, one of which is the Resurrection Herb. Pine and eucalyptus, adding forest freshness to juniper and spice.

Perfect serve

One measure of gin to 4 measures Barker & Quin Indian or Pink Tonic for a sweeter palate. Pour the gin. Muddle 3 slices cucumber and 3 basil or mint leaves in the gin. Add ice blocks and pour the tonic.

Juniper berries, angelica, coriander seed and other botanicals cold infused and then distilled with the remarkable Resurrection Plant (Myrothamnus flabellifolia).

The gin story began with Shane Douglas-Evans wanting to make gins with different flavours. She started with a Fynbos gin and although it was great, decided to explore the boundaries. There are enough glorious Fynbos gins on the market so she decided to leave well enough alone. What Shane is trying to do is stretch the palate, whilst maintaining the integrity of the ‘gin’. Shane decided that to really stand out and be different she would embrace the retro ‘bathtub,’ cold compound infusion method. Making use of distilled liquor and then infusing the botanicals and filtering. This preserves the freshness of the botanicals, since distilling takes them to high temperature. Because there are people who are purists, she produced a distilled Classic gin with eight botanicals too. For this, she has used a herb she knows from Botswana called the Resurrection Herb (Myrothamnus flabellifolia), A ‘cure-all’ herb with extraordinary anti-oxidant properties, which adds a delightful piney depth of flavour, to compliment the Juniper.
